THE Ministry of Education is closely working with schools across the Kingdom to improve educational opportunities for children. While the need for greater choice and higher standards in education is global, Saudi Arabia is one of a number of countries that are openly talking about educational improvements while recognizing the need for a broad spectrum of educational institutions.

International Schools Group (formerly Saudi Arabian International Schools) is the oldest and best-established co-educational expatriate school organization in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Located initially in Dhahran adjacent to the American Consulate, Dhahran Academy began in 1962 with three students.

ISG schools have been licensed by the Ministry of Education since 1974. They accommodate every level of elementary and secondary education beginning with pre-reception and culminating in full High School and Key Stage Four programs.

Each of our schools within the American Division is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. These schools are in Yanbu, Jubail, Dammam and Dhahran. This accreditation is accepted and recognized throughout the world. As a whole, the SAT9 standardized test scores average well above the US national scores.

Dhahran British Grammar School successfully completed a demanding OFSTED-style inspection. Today, DBGS is in its 9th year of (I)GCSE examinati-ons. National tests are taken at the end of Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. Pupils are taught by qualified and experienced staff who are largely British in origin. Again, the performance of the students in the Kingdom is well above the national scores in the UK.

Nearly 100 percent of ISG high school graduates apply to and have been accepted at prestigious universities in the United States, the Middle East, UK, Canada, Australia, Pakistan, India, South Africa and many other countries of the world.

The list of universities is impressive. They include Stanford, MIT, Carnegie-Mellon, Boston, Notre Dame, Georgetown, McGill, Cornell, the London School of Economics, the University of Essex, Queens University, the American University in Beirut and the American University in Sharjah.

There are excellent educational opportunities In the Kingdom, and ISG schools are included among them.

Education is how the world distributes its opportunities.
