JEDDAH: Police yesterday arrested three foreigners on charges of drugging a compatriot by spiking his drink and strangling him while he was in a narcotic haze.

The crime took place in the southern city of Jazan. The three Bangladeshi nationals had fled to Jeddah after committing the crime, according to local police.

The three men allegedly stayed with the victim for three days before committing the crime. Police believe the motive for the killing was money; the accused wanted to steal SR700 and three mobile phones from the victim.

Police launched a search for the killers and information revealed that they were hiding in Kilo 14 area of Makkah Road. Police moved in to their location and made the arrest. The killers reportedly confessed to the crime and claimed the mobile phones they stole were sold.
