RIYADH: The Ministry of Health advised citizens and expatriates yesterday to avoid traveling to Mexico and other countries where there have been outbreaks of the H1N1 influenza A virus.

“The ministry issued the travel advisory yesterday considering the rising incidence of the disease in Mexico and other parts of the world,” Dr. Khalid Al-Mirghalani, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, told Arab News yesterday. He stressed that people should make their travel plans to the infected countries only if it is essential. In such a situation, travelers should exercise extreme caution. Taking medication before traveling to these countries is not considered adequate precaution, he added.
