JEDDAH: The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), a Philippine government agency with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), released recently the results of the Special Licensure Board Examinations (SPLBE) for architects, certified public accountants and civil and mechanical engineers given by the commission between March 25 and April 1, 2009 in Alkhobar and Jeddah.
Forty-one out of 74 examinees from the western region passed the examinations.
The list with the Philippine Professional Organization-Western Region Chapter (PPO-WRC), which is headed by Romulo G. Bani, shows that the following numbers of people passed the respective board exams: 12 in civil engineering, 18 in architecture, 10 in mechanical engineering and one in accounting.

The oath-taking ceremony for Jeddah-based board passers is scheduled for May 14 at 7 p.m. with the Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Antonio P. Villamor administering the “Panunumpa ng Propesyonal” in a venue to be announced later.
The tentative schedule of the next SPLBE is set on the last week of November in Alkhobar and Jeddah. All Filipino graduates in architecture, accounting and civil and mechanical engineering who are interested in taking the exam are urged to contact the respective professional organizations (AFCE-KSA, IOFA-UAPGA, IIEE-WRCSA & PSME-WRSA) for the requirements, review and other related matters.
