DAMMAM: In a rare case, a father and son graduated from college and university the same day, Al-Yaum reported. The 49-year-old father graduated from King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals, while his 21-year-old son graduated from Jubail Industrial College. The father dropped out of school when he was in the elementary stage decades ago, and had worked at King Fahd University for 30 years. He had vowed to continue his education and studied part time until his graduation.

JEDDAH: A Saudi woman taught a Saudi man a lesson in manners by beating him with his own Igal after getting fed up with his advances, a Saudi newspaper reported. The woman was with her children inside a mall when she noticed a 40-year-old following her. The man continued smiling at her and even tried to pass her his mobile number. The woman then went to the mall’s children’s play area followed by the man. Exasperated, she decided to put an end to it. She approached the man, who became excited that he had finally been successful in wooing her. The woman then took the man’s Igal from his head and began beating him with onlookers clapping in support.

ABHA: A 35-year-old Saudi man committed suicide by hanging himself after writing a will that his family should pay his debts, Al-Jazirah newspaper reported. Police first received reports from the man’s brother who said that he found his brother dead inside his apartment. The man was living alone and there were no signs that he had committed suicide. Police are investigating the incident.
