TATHLEETH: Police in Tathleeth, a town in the southwestern Asir province, arrested two drug smugglers following a 12-hour chase. The chase began after highway police tried to stop the smugglers’ vehicle.

The smugglers fired shots at police during the chase. The men then disembarked from their vehicle and attempted to climb a mountain. One of the men was arrested but his accomplice was caught 12 hours later after being surrounded by policemen.

Meanwhile, a young man in his 20s was stabbed to death in a fight with another youth in Hafr Kashb, north of Taif, late on Sunday.

Police arrested the young man and took him in for questioning, Al-Jazirah newspaper reported yesterday.
