Mentally-ill Yanbu man commits suicide

YANBU: A 60-year-old mentally-ill Saudi committed suicide yesterday using his headdress. The man was found dead in the bathroom of his son's home in Yanbu Al-Bahr.

Police said they have launched an investigation into the incident. "Soon after hearing about the suicide, we sent a team of security officers to the site and found that the man had used his headdress to end his life," a source in Yanbu police told Arab News.

He said the man's body has been kept at Yanbu General Hospital, adding that it would be handed over to relatives as soon as investigations are completed.

The source said the man might have committed suicide because of psychological problems.
