PUNE, India: In a move to halt the spread of the deadly swine flu disease, a decision was taken to close down all schools and colleges in and around Pune for the next seven days. In addition to it, all multiplexes would also remain closed for the next three days.
Announcing this decision at a press conference on Monday, the guardian minister for Pune, Ajit Pawar, said that a review of the situation would be taken after three days.
The minister appealed to the people to avoid crowded places and take necessary precautions.
He also warned students and their parents not to take undue advantage of the holiday, which he said was done to prevent the disease from spreading.
