JAZAN: Two young drivers were charred to death and ten others were injured in two separate road accidents involving four cars in and near Jazan on Thursday.
In the first accident, two cars collided head on and caught fire on Karbus Road. Lt. Yahya Al-Qahtani, spokesman of the Jazan Civil Defense, said the cars had caught fire and the civil defense team could not reach in time to extinguish the fire and rescue the two men, who did not have passengers.
In the other accident in the nearby town of Samita, 10 passengers were seriously injured when two speeding cars collided and overturned. One of the cars carried a man and his son. All passengers were admitted to Samita hospital. Iron cutters had to be used to extract the passengers caught in the mangled cars.
