RIYADH: For the third successive year, The Saudi British Bank (SABB) has donated 3,000 schoolbags to the Riyadh Orphans Care Charitable Society (Insan) for distribution to orphans in preparation for the new school year.
“This donation comes under the umbrella of ‘SABB in the Community Programs,’ a gesture that is indicative of the bank’s commitment to support charitable and social service organizations,” said Ibrahim Abo-Mouti, head of Corporate Communications at SABB.
He added that the contribution also highlights the bank’s close relationship with the community, and its continuous efforts to meet community needs and participate actively in various drives and initiatives that enhance participation in charitable projects.
“Having been at the forefront of banking in Saudi Arabia for almost 30 years, SABB is an integral part of the community. This is a role we enjoy and we work hard to maintain,” Abo-Mouti said, adding that every year SABB takes part in a wide range of social events of national interest and supports various local charities.
SABB is also active in the field of education, offering scholarships and training programs for Saudi graduates preparing for a career in banking.
“SABB aims to support educational activities with the hope of preparing this group of kids to be useful citizens in the country. We hope that this initiative would help them face the challenges ahead, and build a better future for themselves and their country,” said Abo-Mouti.
He also took the opportunity to thank the management of Insan Charitable Society for its efforts to make this annual program an unqualified success.
SABB is a prominent community service pioneer. The bank has, for many years, given attention to the continuous development of its programs.
As a result, the bank has innovated new programs aimed at contributing to the development of various sectors in the community, Abo-Mouti said.
Besides supporting activities carried out by charitable societies, the banker said, SABB’s attention is manifested by affecting corporate and individual social responsibility.
“In performing these activities SABB concentrates on three main pillars namely: education, development, social and environmental awareness programs,” he added.
