In all my travels I search for gardens, especially the ones that take extra care of special flowers and exotic plants. Maybe the finest and most celebrated and praised for many centuries are the English Gardens. France, Germany and Austria are next in line but we cannot compare the European ones with Indian, Japanese and Chinese ones.
Asia is extra in every way and surely in the thickness and greenness of its plants. Japan celebrates the huge pink flowers in a month-long gala.
India is famous for its gardenias, its carnations and also its jasmines and in parts of India, flowers, in huge quantities and all colors are a part of any celebration.
In the Middle East maybe Lebanon, Syria and Tunisia have best for gardens. Gardens, after all, are the lungs that we breathe through. I am looking for the day when gardens are in every corner and on all roofs.
Dear Nadia, I was watching the opening of Dubai Metro, and was happy to see the extra care that the government of Dubai has taken. I live in Jeddah and am a contractor engineer. Are there any plans to do something similar in Saudi Arabia? — David, Jeddah
Dear David: I am happy to tell you that a huge plan has been made by the government of Saudi Arabia to build tram and train lines that are state of the art. The lines will connect the major cities with Riyadh. Nothing is being spared in order for this huge project to see the light as soon as possible. — Nadia
