Liquor seized at ports of entry

RIYADH: Saudi authorities foiled an attempt to smuggle 11,000 bottles of liquor into the Kingdom through King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam and King Fahd Causeway. “Customs officials at the port were able to thwart an attempt to smuggle 6,048 bottles of liquor, which were hidden inside a consignment,” said Othman Al-Raqie, director general of the port. Yousuf Al-Zakan, director general of the causeway, said the Customs Department at the facility foiled an attempt to smuggle 4,848 bottles, which were hidden inside a truck.
