JEDDAH: Health Minister Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah has instructed all employees at government hospitals and primary health care centers to provide necessary care to patients admitted at hospitals and those coming to emergency sections during Eid holidays.
The minister has also urged hospitals to extend the period of family visits from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the three days of Eid celebration. Children will also be allowed to visit their relatives.
Dr. Sami Badawood, director of health affairs in Jeddah, said the minister gave the directives on family visits in order to improve the health condition of patients.
“Meeting with families and children during Eid will have a positive impact on patients,” he added.
Badawood visited bed-ridden patients at public hospitals in Jeddah on Sunday in order to convey Eid greetings and present gifts.
Badawood wished them speedy recovery. He also looked into the complaints of patients on the health service. He also met with doctors, nurses and medical technicians at hospitals and congratulated them on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr.
Badawood urged medical staff to extend the best possible services to patients. He visited patients at King Abdul Aziz Hospital and Tumor Center. Dr. Khaled Al-Eissa, director of the hospital, accompanied him.
