DAMMAM: Eastern Province Deputy Gov. Prince Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz conveyed the thanks and appreciation of Eastern Province Gov. Muhammad bin Fahd for the voluntary efforts of Khobar Youth Club to clean up the city after the recent rampage.

Prince Jalawi said the work done by these youths reflect the true morals of Saudi youth and the violent incidents on the night of National Day neither represent them nor the Islamic values they espouse.

“The volunteer activity reflects a positive image of our youth,” said the deputy governor. “You have done this work without anyone asking you. This is something we should be thankful for and our appreciation goes to your families as well. They raised you very well to become good citizens of this country.”

Prince Jalawi said he was sure the families of those youths who were involved in the violent activities do not approve of what they have done. He hoped that the youths would come back to their senses and repent their actions.

Ali Batarfi, supervisor of Khobar Youth Club, thanked Prince Jalawi for his kind words. He said the club’s volunteers carried out a national duty. “It was the duty of Alkhobar youth to visit the damaged site, help in reconstruction work and apologize to shop owners on behalf of the country’s youth,” he said.
