600 kg of rotten fish seized

MAKKAH: A team of municipal officers in Makkah seized two microbuses carrying 600 kg of rotten fish that were headed for distribution at a local market. Ahmad Munshi, head of the Al-Maabda Municipality Branch in Makkah, said that the committee was patrolling a number of underdeveloped neighborhoods when they spotted the two vehicles in a narrow alley. The fish was stored inside cooling containers full of ice.

Man dies under Makkah bridge

MAKKAH: Authorities in Makkah recently found the body of a man under a bridge, which is a popular location for overstayers to gather to be picked up by the Passport Department for deportation. The Passport Department received a phone call from the owner of a shop close to the bridge in Al-Mansour district who reported the existence of the body. The man, an African, died of natural causes.

Four fishermen rescued in Yanbu

YANBU: Border Guards rescued four fishermen, all Bangladeshi nationals, on a boat that had broken down 70 km in the sea away from Yanbu. Guards searched for the missing fishermen for two hours until they were found. All four men were reported to be in good health.
