RIYADH: The Human Rights Commission (HRC) has released its latest journal, focusing mainly on the importance Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah places in interfaith dialogue.
The king’s Interfaith Dialogue Initiative Conference is covered in the issue, which featured a keynote speech from HRC President Bandar Al-Iban.
He stressed the importance placed by the king in dialogue between members of different religions and cultures, especially in a world facing global tensions and various humanitarian challenges.
The initiative aims to recognize the threat of religious and racial extremism to society. The HRC’s journal claims that since his inauguration, King Abdullah has worked to establish bases for human rights on both a national and international level, which aims to protect societies’ privacy, sovereignty and beliefs.
It points out the decision of several government departments to support the concept of humans rights has been beneficial for Saudi society as a whole.
