JEDDAH: The Jeddah Summary Court will issue its verdict in the case against a Saudi woman journalist accused of being involved in the controversial LBC program “Bold Red Line” next Saturday sources said on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the lawyer of Mazen Abdul Jawad, the man who bragged about his sexual exploits on the channel, told Arab News that he had formally received an official document containing the verdict against his client.

Suleiman Al-Jumaie said he would carefully study the verdict prior to filing his objection and appeal against it at the Court of Appeal in the Makkah region within a month.

He revealed his objections would focus on a number of points including the non-specialty of the summary court in Jeddah that considered the case, as it was “merely a media issue.”

Al-Jumaie said he had also attended the first hearing in the lawsuit filed by Jawad against LBC at the Ministry of Information and Culture in Riyadh on Monday.

He added that during the session he presented a chart of his client’s complaints against the channel and would supplement it with another memorandum next week.

“I believe that all others who received various sentences in the case will appeal the verdict except for the photographer who I heard had accepted his verdict of three months imprisonment and flogging,” he said.
