RIYADH: Crown Prince Phillipe of Belgium arrived in Riyadh on Friday evening at the head of a 250-strong business delegation for a five-day visit to the Kingdom.
The delegation, which includes Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Yves Leterme and Walloon Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Jean-Claude Marcourt, will visit Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
Businessmen in the delegation, one of the largest from Belgium in recent years, are involved in a wide variety of fields — logistics, the petrochemical industry, energy, the health industry and dredging.Many of them are leading players in their fields.
During the first three days of the trade mission, both the official and business delegations will be in Riyadh, focusing on renewable and nonrenewable energy.
Along with various businessmen, Prince Philippe, who is honorary chairman of the Belgian Foreign Trade Agency, will visit SABIC, the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology and the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Official meetings are planned with Assistant Minister of Petroleum Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman, Minister of Commerce & Industry Abdullah Zainal Alireza and Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah.
Prince Philippe has also requested an audience with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal.
