ISLAMABAD: Turkey’s prime minister has received Pakistan’s highest civilian award. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari presented Recep Tayyip Erdogan with Nishan-e-Pakistan on Monday “in recognition of his visionary leadership and outstanding contribution in strengthening Pakistan-Turkey relations.” Ties between the two countries have strengthened over time. Erdogan was the first foreign head of state to visit a region in Pakistan devastated by a massive earthquake in 2005.
