RIYADH: Sri Lanka’s government called for the help of its overseas workers to work for the country’s development plans. “President Mahinda Rajapaksa has summoned these workers for a two-day program in Colombo to help rebuild the island’s war-ravaged areas and encourage much-needed foreign investments,” said Sabarullah Khan, chargé d’affaires at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh. Khan made the announcement at an annual cultural event at the Embassy on Thursday.

Khan said that the meeting is to be held in Colombo from Nov. 14 to 15 at the president’s residence, on the first day and at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall on the second.
