BAE Systems’ 64 Saudi employees have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in its global Chairman’s Awards. The Saudi nationals excelled in driving innovation, transferring best practice and enhancing customer performance. To honor their work the defense and aviation company recently hosted a special reception. The Chairman’s Award recognition mechanism is held annually to ensure the continued evolution of the company and to recognize and motivate employees. Chief Executive of BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Peter Wilson along with other senior executives attended the event and presented certificates to the winners. In his speech, he thanked the successful Saudis for their efforts and said that their contributions had assisted with the development of the company in the Kingdom and helped the firm to gain the confidence of its customers.

For the first time, Samsung mobile brings to nine different cities across the Kingdom a free mega service drive by specialized Korean engineers for a whole month. Inamullah Butt, marketing & PR manager at Samsung Electronics in Saudi Arabia, said: “This campaign is supervised by specialized Korean Engineers and is part of our CSR program.” He added: “We work hard to give our customers the finest maintenance experience and we believe this initiative will further showcase Samsung’s dedication to customer service and satisfaction with a society that is constantly looking for better quality.” The campaign continues in Makkah region till Oct. 30, in Khamis Mushayit and Tabuk from Nov. 4-6 and in Riyadh from Nov. 11-16. From Nov. 18-20, the service will be available in Buraidah, Alkhobar and Dammam.
JOTUN PAINTS
Jotun Paints has supplied over three million liters of paint for the first phase of Dubai Metro’s Red Line, which has commenced operations. The company is still set to deliver its paints and coatings for the remaining phases within the Red Line and the entire Green Line, expected to be fully operational by June and December 2010, respectively. “The involvement of Jotun Paints in this landmark project is another feather in our cap,” said Eirik Kristensen, Jotun Paints’ regional marketing manager, MENA. “Jotun Paints has been providing high quality, cost- effective decorative and protective coatings, which can withstand extreme levels of UV light, various levels of humidity and corrosion, high and low ambient temperatures and other environmental pollutants to preserve their strength and appearance over the span of their service life cycle.”

Christie’s is building on its leadership position in the Middle East market with two sales in Dubai, the ‘International Modern and Contemporary Art’ auction held on Wednesday, which follows the ‘Jewels and Watches’ auction today (Thursday). Taking place at the Jumeirah Emirates Tower, the sales, supported by Credit Suisse, are expected to realize $8-$11 million and $4.9-$6.8 million. Michael Jeha, MD, Christie’s Middle East said: “We present a diverse range of outstanding art, from pieces by renowned Arab, Iranian and Indian masters, as well as emerging artists from Saudi Arabia, to a jewelry and watch auction with pieces that appeal to a range of tastes and budgets.” Jussi Pylkkanen, president of Christie’s Middle East and Europe, said.
