RIYADH: An 11-member Taiwanese trade delegation left the Kingdom on Monday after visiting the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) where they watched a presentation on the Kingdom’s solar energy program.
“We were impressed with the KACST presentation on the Kingdom’s efforts to develop its solar energy program. It is shaping up to be a huge industry in the near future,” said Cecile Wang, head of the delegation and general manager of Lotron Industries Corp.
The delegation also visited a solar energy project some 50 km outside Riyadh.
Wang said that the companies in her delegation are willing to collaborate with their Saudi counterparts. Last Saturday, the delegation met Saudi businessmen at the Riyadh Palace Hotel and on Sunday at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“Saudi Arabia is a potential market. Of the countries we have visited during our trip to the Middle East, it has the strongest economy. Its population is also growing,” said Kasper Lin, the delegation’s deputy head.
