JEDDAH: Jeddah’s skyline along the Corniche will have a new dimension with Lamar Towers, described as the Kingdom’s first integrated skyscraper project, beginning to take shape.
“After completing the foundation works, the Lamar Towers project today enters a new phase,” Ahmed Al-Hatti, chairman of Cayan for Investment and Development, told reporters on the site on Monday. A team of Jeddah mayoralty was invited to oversee the development.
The project consists of two towers, one of them consisting of 72 stories and the second one of 69 stories. “With an investment of SR3 billion, it is considered one of the most important investment projects in Saudi Arabia,” Al-Hatti said.
The most important phase of the project, of casting the concrete mat of the highest tower (72 stories), was concluded successfully after having overcome drying of the site, where the depth of drilling was about nine meters.
Ahmed Al-Hatti said the project would witness the concrete mat casting work of the second tower (69 stories) immediately after Eid Al-Adha as per the plan.
The construction team of project comprises a number of companies with vast and specialized expertise, such as Arabtec Alsaad as the main contractor, Turner Company as the project manager, Saudi Diyar as the engineering supervisor and Cayan International Company as the main developer.
