DAMMAM: King Fahd Causeway, the bridge that links the Kingdom to Bahrain, has not partially collapsed as reported on some Internet sites, said Badr Al-Otaishan, the causeway’s director general. “The reports circulated by these sites are totally untrue. More than 21,000 people going to or coming from Bahrain crossed the bridge on Friday,” he said. Saleh Al-Khilaiwi, director general of customs and chairman of the board of directors of the causeway, was part of a group that recently toured the bridge to see arrangements that have been made to receive pilgrims. Customs passages and cabins on the bridge have been increased from 10 to 18 during Ramadan to cope with the growing number of travelers between the two countries.
