JEDDAH. Bobby Baraquel, Ray Thompson and Rod Morales played like scoring machines for Sky Freight to knock down Lance & 3rdy while Amro Al-Amri flared Lucky Strikes up to halt the winning streak of Shawly Bowlers on the 24th week of the FEDBG-FMBL 8th conference at the Bowling City here.

Head on with Oca Bernabe who initially led Lance with 202, Baraquel shielded 227 on Sky freight’s 1138-1081 opening thrust. Ruel Santoc (204), Tommy de Castro (210) and Evely Santoc (200) backed up Bernabe on the second salvo but Baraquel (213), Morales (244), Thompson 214 and Jay Perez (202) blocked those efforts for 1218-1133 Sky Freight’s follow up.

Ruel Santoc then bettered his game to 219, but with only Lavern Laderas and Alex Samson giving ample support, Sky Freight with Voi Ycong (220) showing his worth in support to Baraquel’s 214 and Morales’ 226, swept the match at 3549-3315 including the 1193-1101 endgame.

Morales, Baraquel and Thompson posted 659, 653 and 613 respectively while Nondee de Guzman helped with 549.

The 685 scratch of Al-Amri totaled from 247, 22 and 216 underlined the success of Lucky Strikes as no Sahwly bowler marked 600 at the end of their 3379-3140 match which was cleanly slated by the Larry Domingo and Toto Lim-led team.

With L. Domingo boarding second with 583 highlighted by a 233 on game1, that was not even leveled by the rival’s top-scorer Max Salang (560), the match can be summarized as a disastrous outing to the formerly front-running Shawly Bowlers that embraced total wreck games of 1177-1025, 1065-1023 and 1137-1102. Al-Amri won his second Bowler of the Week honor for his 685 scratch total while the lady Bowler of the Week was Nurissa Ramos.

Ramos won the most coveted weekly award for the lady bowlers on her brilliant games of 211, 221 and 208 that totaled 640 on Jem Strikers 3330-3290 edged of Bowling Is Fun. Inflicted by this match and Shawly’s setback, Jem Strikers fortified their league leadership at 522 against the closest rival Shawly who has 511.

But Jem Strikers padded more when they beat Lance & 3rdy at 16-4 (3583-3495) on the 25th week. Jems accumulated 552 points on the overall rankings to be the top qualifier team even with a bleak outing on the 26th week.

Winning the Bowler of the Week honors on the 25th session were Oca Bernabe and Susan Patayan. Bernabe won his second BOW on total of 708 on his 269, 235 and 204 defense of Lance & 3rdy against Jems.

Patayan garnered her first award on handicapped total of 624 (198, 222, 204) as she led Perfect Breakers on their 11-9 (3384-3300) triumph over Falcon. Supporting Susan on Perfect Breakers victory were TC Eva Garcia, Vic Bantay, Lito Magpantay, Serge Rivera and spouse Nap Patayan.
