Talent Management, Tugonon excel in FBGR-Almarai event

RIYADH: Talent Management of Allan dela Rosa claimed back-to-back Best Team of the Week awards on the 2nd week of the FBGR-Almarai Saturday (formerly Thursday) Bowling League 9th Conference.

FBGR Bowler of the Year’09 Ric Tugonon shared the stage with Talent Management by clinching the Best Bowler of the Week plum.

Talent Management banked on the excellent performances of Willie Ortega, Jett Cabana, Gigi Enriquez, Allan dela Rosa and Joe Ligon to dismantled SABB-One HSBC 13-3 to duplicate its opening week feat in the tournament.

Ortega top-scored at Talent Management by posting a four-game series of 758. Enriquez, Dela Rosa and Ligon contributed separate series of 748, 718, 717 and 650.

Yasser Mohammed and Cas Encila led SABB-One HSBC by tallying 741 and 710. Coming in next to Yasser and Encila was Jaffer Al-Katheri with 689 points. Leo Mabunga, Allan Oferene chipped in with 483 and 303 points.

Fathi Bowlers outplayed Over Hit 2, 12-5 to climb to second in the team standings.

AJ Bonifacio and Gayner Elias were at the helm of Fathi Bowlers posting 784 and 776, with Bonifacio narrowly losing the Best Bowler of the Week award to Tugonon by a mere 2 points.

Yusof Fernandez and Fathi Abdulaziz added 686 and 627 points to complement Bonifacio and Elias. Emil Rances and Larry Mondoy added 355 and 282 points.

Noel Ordonez led Over Hit 2 with 748 in four outings and next to him having the best score were Victor Edan (733), Hani Al-Nasleh (692), Arnold Quindara (661) and Bobot Aguirre (638).

Orbit Showtime of Rodel Canda walloped Alsalam Aircraft Company 12-3 and at the center stage in Orbit Showtime was Ariel Feliciano with 779 points. Resty de Jesus followed Feliciano by downing 738 points while Glenn Espiritu and Atoi Ramos posted 711 and 703. Canda had 622 points.

Rollie Cleofe fired 710 points at the vanguard of Alsalam Aircraft that also netted 652 from Efren Abuyo and 641 from Bernie Bacani. Mario Rivera and Benjie Valderama followed Abuyo and Bacani at 529 and 511. Wala Pa Eh! upset Fuji Elevators 11-9 behind Ruben Rialon (734), Ruben Tan (723) and Jerry Damiray (679).

Sonny Alviso shone too by posting 573 points while junior bowler Patrick Alviso added 141.

Meantime, two-time defending champion Eraserheads clobbered Almarai Company 11-5.

Topscoring at Eraserheads was Merlin Calooy with 736 points.Zaldy Torres, Ronald Bautista and Jojo Gabriel made 540, 523 and 511 points. Benito Santos, Willy Nogoy and Jhun Macarandan had 467, 374 and 330 series in two games.

On lanes 5 and 6, Nadec Strokers nipped Royal Archer 9-7 thanks to Jove Marano (729), Ruben Babasa (674), Charles Rosauro (591), Danny Nabong (491) and team mentor Lope Ramirez (475).

Tugonon shone at Royal Archer by posting 786 series in four games. Nap Torres was next to Tugonon with 729 points while the tandem of Fareed Aquino and Rodel Molina rolled 689 and 663. Meanwhile, the league takes a holiday break starting this week and resumes with 3rd week matches on Jan. 23 next year at the Universal Bowling Center.
