RIYADH: A new state-of-the-art service facility for Peugeot and Subaru cars and vehicles in Riyadh was opened on Saturday by French Ambassador Bertrand Besancenot. The 2000-square meter “Peugeot and Subaru Service Center” is equipped with highly-specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to ensure that the problems or requests of car owners are efficiently and effectively processed within as short a time as possible.
“The opening of this service center is an excellent initiative on the part of Al-Motwakil Motors Co. and Peugeot, which also indicates the strong partnership between the French and Saudi companies,” said Besancenot. The ambassador said that Peugeot had new products currently being displayed at the Riyadh Motor Show. He said that the center offered a comprehensive range of services including a quick-fix facility while the car owner waits.
After formally cutting the ribbon, Basencenot took a tour of the service facility together with Said A. Al-Yemni, president of Al-Motwakil Motors Co., the authorized Peugeot dealer. The opening was also attended by David Rio, director of Peugeot’s international operations division; Jamal Sahl, regional manager; Sultan K. Al-Saleh, Al-Motwakil Motors’ branch manager, and Paul Badr, the Dammam-based manager for Al-Motwakil Motors.
Speaking on the occasion, Al-Yemni said that the new facility in Riyadh’s Sulaimaniya district would offer all services, including body work, repair and maintenance. The service center will have stocks of genuine Peugeot parts as well as highly-trained motor mechanics and engineers, he added. “We have launched new Peugeot models, which are suitable for the Saudi and Middle East market,” said Rio. He said that Peugeot was selling 40 percent of its cars outside Europe. Rio said. “Peugeot is increasing its presence in the Middle East; we are very optimistic about the growing trends in terms of the sales of the cars in this part of the world despite the global downturn. More than 1,200 Peugeot cars were sold in the Kingdom last year alone despite the crisis,” he said, adding that the company sold more than 2.4 million cars worldwide in 2009. With every purchase of a Peugeot, buyers are offered competitive all-inclusive maintenance services packages, he noted.
To further improve the after-sales services offered, clients are advised to visit the service center for a mandatory checkup; car diagnosis and cost estimates are given prior to the start of a maintenance program which ensures the clients’ peace of mind, he explained. The service center also has a ready inventory of genuine parts at highly competitive prices.
This center will also provide services for Subaru vehicles as part of Al-Motwakil Motors’ plan to offer services for Subaru vehicles and to further enhance the brand image. The Subaru division in this service facility also incorporates a modern and large service garage, parts and accessories.
