Sri Lankan man murdered in Jeddah

JEDDAH: A Sri Lankan man was arrested in the Al-Salama district of Jeddah in relation to the murder of a fellow Sri Lankan.

Police allege the man stabbed his victim in the chest with a knife; the man was arrested within 24 hours of the crime happening.

The victim’s body was found early Friday in a small alley in the Al-Salama district. Police said the arrested man has confessed to the murder. In his confession, the man said he and the victim lived together and that he asked him to leave, as he had no official documents. On his refusal, a fight ensued in which one killed the other.

Police have transferred the case to the General Prosecution and Investigation Board.
