DUBAI: Global Indian International School (GIIS) - Asia's leading international school - will open its first campus in Dubai in April next year.

This was disclosed by GIIS officials at a press conference held at Capital Club at DIFC. Headquartered in Singapore, GIIS is established by Global Indian Foundation (GIF), a Singapore-based nonprofit foundation that operates the largest pan-Asian educational institution chain.

GIIS Dubai will be the first school in the city to offer a choice of Montessori (KG1 & KG2), ISC (Indian School Certificate), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program.

GIIS Dubai is established in association with 'Score Plus Education - an education holding group headquartered in Dubai. The school will initially provide classes from kindergarten to grade 6, with two new grades added every subsequent academic year up until grade 12.

Commenting on the launch of GIIS Dubai, Maneesh Tripathi, CEO, GIF, Singapore, said: "At GIIS, our mandate is to nurture students to become responsible global citizens, empowered with innovative and critical thinking skills through a tried and tested model of teaching and learning. GIIS Schools create true Global Indian citizens who can be placed in any part of the world. This is a part of our 'flip-a-generation' program."

Kamal Kalwani, CEO of Score Plus Education, Dubai, said: "I am glad that Dubai now has a global institution in the form of GIIS. With its vast experience in providing world-class education, it will contribute considerably to the educational sector in the region.

GIIS Dubai will offer an environment conducive to promoting excellence in education.

"Located in close proximity to the Mankhool metro station, GIIS Dubai will offer a day boarding school - where homework, group work, and sports are completed under the supervision of teachers within school hours. I am elated to provide a platform to create Global Indians from Dubai."

To facilitate excellence in education across GIIS schools and consistency in academic standards, GIIS Dubai will have the Global Indian Cultural Center (GICC) set up in the campus. This center will serve as a community hub open to all. It will offer classes in Indian and foreign languages, music, dance, drama, philosophy, meditation, art & craft and yoga. It will also organize activities to mark major festivals with performances, workshops, lecture demonstrations, concerts and exhibitions.
