JAZAN: The keys to 70 housing units constructed by Prince Sultan Charitable Foundation in Jazan’s Uhd Masaraha and Dhamad areas were handed out to deserving poor families during a ceremony here on Monday.

Jazan Gov. Prince Muhammad bin Nasser, who inaugurated the housing scheme, commended the support of Crown Prince Sultan, deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, to the charitable project. Dr. Majed Al-Qasabi, director general of the foundation, conveyed Prince Sultan’s greetings to the project’s beneficiaries.

He said the distribution of housing units marks Prince Sultan’s return to the Kingdom from abroad after making a full recovery from illness.

In a related development, Najran Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah said work on 5,000 housing units ordered by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah would start soon. “These housing units will be constructed at the shelter camps,” the governor said during a Civil Defense meeting in the province.

Brig. Nasser Aseeri, director of Civil Defense in Najran, spoke about his department’s efforts to confront calamities while Muhammad Al-Shahri, director of the Finance Ministry’s branch in Jazan, said his ministry would provide all support to the shelter camps in the province.
