JUBAIL: Toastmasters from Division L in Jubail consisting of over a dozen individual clubs marked the launch of its website, along with their club officers’ training during an impressive function at the Jubail InterContinental Hotel.
Assistant Divison Governor for Education and Training, Khaled Malagaitu, opened the training program, which was attended by over 70 club officers. P.J.J. Antony, Suresh Kumar, N.V. Arasu, Vasudhar Gopal, Bashar Al-Saleh, Sushil Agarwal and Rajiv Pillai were the trainers. Division Governor Waheed Lateef introduced his divisional council team and spoke of the tremendous strides that the division had taken in the last few months.
The formation of new clubs, particularly in the corporate sector, conducting of interactive workshops on contest judging and speech evaluation the introduction of four awards for the Best Toastmasters of the Year, and the launch of the website were some of the division’s notable achievements in the last six months. Waheed Lateef invited Saif Ali Shaikh, District KSA co-chairman, to launch the website (www.toastmastersdivisionl.com), Public Relations Officer Seju Davis, who designed the website, gave a brief introduction to the site.
Waheed invited Conference Chairman Taher Moinuddin to announce the theme of the conference, entitled “Conquering Heights” for the upcoming annual divisional conference scheduled to be held from April 15-16 and introduced his support team for the conference.
Conference Vice Chairman Khalid Al-Hajri, Divison F Governor Syed Faizullah and Area 53 Governor R.J. George, Area 9 Governor Azhar Farook and a host of prominent Toastmasters from the Eastern Province were in attendance. Division L Secretary Jacob Kuriakose concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks. Shameer Ahmed and Javed Ansari were the program coordinators.
