JEDDAH: The draw for the Crown Prince Cup took place at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Compound, Riyadh, on Monday. The tourney starts during the first week of February.
Al-Ansar from Madinah, Hajr from Hafuf, Taie from Hail and Al-Faysaly from Hurma, north of Riyadh are the four teams from the first division that has qualified for the pre-quarterfinals of this competition.
Al-Hilal will face Al-Faysaly in Riyadh, and Al-Raid will host Al-Nasr in Buraidah. Al-Ittihad will play against Najran in Najran while Hazem will face Al-Nasr in Buraidah.
Shabab will take on Qadesiya in Alkhobar, Wehda hosts Taie in Makkah. Al-Ahli will clash against Hajr in Ahsa and Al-Ittifaq takes on Al-Fateh in Ahsa.
Hilal, the defending champions, triumphed in 1964, 1995, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009. Ittihad won in 1958, 1959, 1963, 1991, 1997, 2001 and 2004. Ahli has five championships (1957, 1970, 1998, 2002 and 2007), and Shabab three (1993, 1996 and 1999). Nasr won the competition twice in 1973 and 1974. Riyadh club triumphed in 1994, Qadisia in 1992, Ittifaq in 1965 and Wehda in 1960.
