JAZAN: An overstaying Arab expatriate was killed in a drunken brawl in Qadisiah district in Jazan on Tuesday. A Yemeni and two Saudis have been arrested in connection with 40-year-old Ahmad Bari’s murder, a police official told Arab News.
Bari had been found dead with a broken skull at the top of the building where the suspects were staying. Hours before his murder, several people claim they had seen the trio beating him up with a rod, adding they all appeared to be drunk, spokesman for Jazan police Lt. Col. Awad Al-Qahtani said.
The case is under investigation.
Meanwhile, four schoolteachers were injured in an accident on a mountain road in Al-Rayth on Tuesday. The brakes of the car carrying them failed at a sharp turn as it was coming down the mountain close to the Wadi Amoud, causing the vehicle to hit a rock and fall down in a pit.
Civil Defense teams rescued the injured passengers from the mangled car and rushed them to Beesh General hospital. Two of the victims are still critical while the other two are stable, a hospital source said.
