JEDDAH: The police here detained an Arab expatriate for hanging pictures of a Saudi woman in her 20’s at the entrance of her building threatening her to circulate the photographs on the Internet if she declined to pay him a sum of money he had specified, spokesman Col. Misfir Al-Juaid said Saturday.
He did not reveal the name or the nationality of the expatriate but said he was arrested with collaboration between the police and members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
Al-Juaid said the police intervened after the woman complained. The spokesman said the woman had admitted to having a “forbidden relationship” with the man previously.
She said when she broke up this relationship he threatened to scandalize her. Al-Juaid said the police destroyed all the pictures of the girl and added that the man was handed over to the Prosecution and Investigation Commission for further questioning.
