RIYADH: A thief stabbed two police officers who were trying to arrest him in Riyadh on Monday. In spite of their injuries, the two officers were able to subdue the man and take him to a police station.

The officers arrested the 24-year-old, who is unemployed and previously been found responsible for a string of crimes, following reports of three crimes in the city.

In one, a Syrian man reported how he was mugged on a Riyadh street, in the second a man reported how his 13-year-old son was harassed and that a man tried to kidnap him in the city’s Al-Sultana district, and in the third a man reported that his home was burgled.

Police launched an investigation and narrowed their search to the 24-year-old Saudi. During his arrest, the man produced a knife and stabbed the two officers. One of the officers was stabbed in the chest.
