City districts to get face-lift

JEDDAH: Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal said on Wednesday that projects to develop Makkah and Jeddah’s underdeveloped residential districts would change the face of 40 percent of Makkah’s districts and 33 percent of Jeddah’s districts. He said two government companies along with the private sector would carry out the project, adding that the companies would own government land. He also called on public and private institutions to invest in the project.

Egyptian killed in Jazan accident

JAZAN: An Egyptian was killed and nine Saudis were injured in a traffic accident involving three vehicles in Jazan on Wednesday afternoon. The Egyptian’s car had a head-on collision with another car, which carried two women and man, on the Jazan-Karbuse Road. A school bus carrying girl students also rammed into the car causing injury to six students. Rescue workers took out the Egyptian’s body from the mangled car using metal cutters. One of the girls passed out after the accident.
