AL-JOUF: Five female students died and 11 others were injured after the bus they were traveling in crashed into a car.
The students were traveling from the village of Al-Fayad to Al-Qurayat where they were to sit their end-of-semester exams.
Those injured were taken to Al-Qurayat General Hospital.
One student was in intensive care; the others were also kept in hospital but not in intensive care.
This is the second such accident on the highway between Tabarjal and Al-Qurayat in less than two months. Parents from villages close to the highway called for moves to prevent similar accidents from happening in the future.
They also expressed dissatisfaction at the way the highway is structured, saying it is dangerous due to its many exits that drivers find challenging to maneuver.
