JEDDAH: Jeddah Lanes overhauled Sky Freight-TFC’s slim lead of 5 points as they switched places after the first session back from the holidays of the Faris Trading Monday Night Bowling League 11th Season at the Jeddah Lanes Bowling Center in Mosadia Plaza here.

The host bowlers led the race during the 12th week with 42 points to become the Team of the Week.

Faris Trading was second on 40 points and Bugshan Est. third on 31.

League leader Insektos laid low this time to tie International for fifth and sixth places on 28 points, just behind Shawly Restaurant which had 30.

Inserts Amigo, D’ Barkads and My Angel occupied the next three places on 25, 22 and 21 points.

Sky Freight-TFC had a poor performance on the night but its points in the bank saved it from slipping worse than third in the team standings.

It ended up next to last on 15 points, while GraveVibration was only a shade better on 16 and Al-Mottawer Group last on 14 points.

Bugshan Est. claimed a piece of the spotlight when it produced the Bowler of the Week in Riyad Azzam, who rolled the high series of 708 on lines of 237, 192, and 216.

Gerry Tano again used his familiarity with Jeddah Lanes, where he works, to lead the charge by the host bowlers with 662.

Tano shot games of 209, 234 and 201 to pace teammates Cesar Monares 613 and Rene Santiago 587. Also making valuable two-game contributions were Gerry Mandanas 226-202, Rudy Valenzuela 198-195 and Rene Santiago 183-190.

The second best team of the night, Faris Trading, did well behind a single set of five players. At the helm was Nick Gozum with 649 followed by Abet Sarte 643, Val Magsino 628, Rally Zamora 598 and Bonnie Garcia 578.

At Bugshan Fahad Al-Bulishi and Abdulah Al-Hariri compiled 594 and 579 to support Azam, while Abdu Ali carded 561 to go with 182-173 by Ibrahim Mohamad and 176 by Nezar Il-Hamwe.

Shawly Restaurant had Ruel Perez as the top man at 619. Luis Pacubas came through with 599, Arnel Bautista and Max Salang matched cards of 589, while Jun Pilipina had 216-202 and Joel Nidoy 195.

Leading the way at International were Zaldy Bacero at 638 and Rene Martinez at 606. Nanding Siasoco and Verasak Di added 598 and 595.

Like Faris Trading Inserts Amigo kept the faith in the five-man combination of Noe Leysa 653, Mar Cabrera 630, Alex Flora 591, Rudy Punzalan 573 and Sid Sagun 550.
