JEDDAH: A 10-day bazaar displaying handicrafts produced by 40 working families was launched at the Sultan Mall in Jeddah on Wednesday.
Hayfa Naji, chairperson of the Al-Iba Wa Al-Ruqiy Establishment for Conferences and Exhibitions, which organized the bazaar said the primary goal of the exhibition was to promote the families that produce handicrafts.
More than 500 attended the opening function.
“We consider the spring vacation, when large numbers of domestic tourists are visiting Jeddah, an ideal occasion to display the products of working families and encourage them in their work. It would also ensure a good income for them besides providing an opportunity to communicate with leading businesswomen and large companies who may help them in marketing their products,” said Naji.
The bazaar offered for sale traditional handicrafts, such as hand-woven clothes, embroideries, abayas, henna works, traditional foods, sweetmeats, salted foods, hair plaiting, flower arrangements, perfumes and incenses and household accessories.
