JEDDAH: Babar Toor, Kanoo Travel, Bupa-XI and Ghudaid-XI scored comfortable wins in the second week matches of the Division II Cricket League, sponsored by Al Harazi Trading & Contracting Est. and organized by the Jeddah Cricket Association.
Deccan Knights batting first made 180 in their allotted overs against Babar Toor. Opener Inayathullah made 80 Firdous (38) were the only batsmen that stood up to the rivals for whom fast bowler Shabbir bagged 5 for 27.
In reply the Babar Toor reached their target making181 for 5 in 17.2 overs and won the match by five wickets. Fakhar was the hero of the match as he scored 79. He was supported by Ahsan who made 50 runs. Shahid took two wickets.
In another match, Saudia City batting first was all out for 120. Farhan top-scored with 43 runs. Javeed Younus made 27 while his opening partner Mahboob managed 22 runs. Mussarath took 3 wickets. For Kanoo, opening batmen Syed Kaleem remained unbeaten on 67. His partner Mazhar made 40. Both put up 124 runs first wicket to win the match by 10 wickets.
In the third match, Usfan Youngsters-XI caved in for a paltry 66. Maroof took 4 for 10 and Abdullah 2 for 3. In reply Bupa reached 67 for 2. Toufeeq made 36 runs. Bupa-XI won by 8 wickets.
In the last match, Ghudaid-XI batting first made 161 for 2 in their 18 allotted overs. Adnan (61) his partner Babar (38) were the main contributors for Ghudaid. In reply the ACC made 119 for 8 and lost the match by 42 runs. Abid and Muzammail scored 23 runs each. Babar with his spin variations had magical figures of 5 for 10.
