JEDDAH: The issue of 20 Pakistanis who have been in jail since last year awaiting trial for forgery “is in the hands of the Saudi government,” said the Pakistani Consulate Sunday. “We have been in contact with the Foreign Ministry about them, but we cannot do anything except to provide whatever is needed for the (Saudi) legal process,” said a consulate official. The National Society of Human Rights recently said it would try to arrange for the men to be tried. The Pakistanis were arrested a year ago at King Abdul Aziz International Airport for attempting to travel on forged passports.
