"Out of a total of 104 websites of charities in the Gulf region 65 sites are run by Saudi charities followed by 14 charities of United Arab Emirates and 13 by Bahrain. Kuwait has six websites and Qatar four. With only two sites Sultanate of Oman comes at the last position," said the report by the Jeddah-based Midad International Research Studies Center.
The center evaluated the services of the websites on the basis of a set of standards such as the quality of contents, user friendliness, frequency of updating, activation of internal links, employment of multimedia and services to the visitors and quality of the program language and hosting. On the basis of this rating, the websites of Qatari charities came at the top with 63 percent. Kuwait came at the second place with 54 percent closely followed by Saudi Arabia with 53 percent.
