Israel's Channel 10 television on Wednesday broadcast a video captured by a hidden camera showing senior Palestinian official Rafiq Al-Husseini taking off his clothes as the sound of a woman appears in the background talking to him. The report alleged that PA officials had stolen international aid money and transferred them to banks in other Arab countries. The sting operation was carried under instructions from former Palestinian intelligence officer Fahmi Shabaneh who is investigating corruption in the Palestinian Authority.
Haniyeh ordered Hamas' Al-Aqsa satellite channel not to air the report and nor interview Shabaneh.
Abdulqader said Haniyeh's decision "was a wise one and came from a responsible personality."
Abdulqader stressed that the decision "serves the Egyptian-mediated reconciliation talks between Fatah and Hamas movements."
The PA said it will sue Channel 10 for publishing "obscene images" and accusing it of corruption.
