With police officials being gagged from speaking to the media, the city police commissioner Satya Pal Singh had nothing significant to reveal to the media except that the investigations were continuing and that the police have drawn sketches of the suspects based on the description given by eye witness, who are employees of the German Bakery.
The police are keeping everything tightly under wraps, revealing nothing much. Speculations are only being drawn about the involvement of some terrorists organizations like the Lashkar-E-Toiba (LeT) Jamaat Ul Dawa (JuD) and the Indian Mujahdeen  (IM), but neither the police, nor the state or federal government is confirming about their involvement, directly or indirectly, nor any terrorist outfit have so far claimed to have triggered the blast.
Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) officials have taken into their custody the CCTV footage taken by the hotel cameras which shows two suspects walking into the German Bakery carrying bags. The pictures of the suspects captured on the CCTV cameras are clear, according to police sources, but there is no official confirmation about this from the ATS officials. If true, the footage may give extra leverage to the investigating officers to track down the suspects.
Meanwhile, India and Pakistan will resume peace talks as planned despite an opposition demand for suspension of all talks in the wake of Sunday’s deadly restaurant bombing in Pune as a “legitimate diplomatic option”.
“I am not accusing Pakistan but we believe that there are number of actors in Pakistan who may be beyond the control of the government and who may be behind those actions,” said Shashi Tharoor, India’s junior foreign minister, while reacting to the BJP demand.
Tharoor said the government would refrain from any “knee-jerk reaction,” amid calls from the main opposition Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that the meeting should be called off.
