Rabeeah said in the statement the early formation of this committee would give its members adequate time to prepare and organize Umrah and Haj work within the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
“We are happy that last Haj was without any serious health problems, and this gives us additional hope in being more active in the coming years to serve the pilgrims,” the minister said.
According to the minister’s directive, the committee will coordinate with other ministries which are connected with the maintenance and operation in the holy areas. It will also decide the volume of manpower that should be deployed in various health facilities in the holy sites.
Last week, Haj Minister Fouad Al-Farsy reiterated the Kingdom’s keenness on extending the best possible services to the pilgrims. The minister made the remarks during a meeting in Jeddah with the Bangladeshi Haj mission led by the country’s Religious Affairs Minister Mohammed Shah.
Efforts are also under way to expand the road network in Makkah to cope with the increasing number of Haj and Umrah pilgrims.
