"The plan of the new city and its implementation is quite impressive," said Jordan Clark, leader of the delegation. The visiting team includes Glenn Thompson, Benni Ferri, Sylvester Riz, and high-ranking officials from the US Congress.
The delegation was accompanied by Fahd bin Abdulrahman bin Shalhob, Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Ajlan and Salem bin Hamdan Al-Hamdan from the Al-Shoura Council, as well as Saud Mohammed Al-Sati and Mohanned Naim Al-Sheikh from the US Embassy in Riyadh.
KAEC's developmental plans and its progress to date were presented by senior executives from Emaar, The Economic City (EEC), the company developing KAEC.
A Job Market Foundation Program by Emaar in partnership with the College of Business Administration (CBA) has also been announced. The 10-week long program aims to train and develop high school graduates to better their chances in an increasingly demanding job market. The program comes as part of Emaar’s CSR commitment to training and developing Saudi youth. The current program targets the youth of Rabigh; 304 students are enrolled on the program at the moment.
According to the initial agreement signed by Fahd Al-Rasheed, CEO and MD of Emaar, and Abdullah Dahlan, chairman of the CBA Trustees Council, both parties evenly share the program cost, which is around SR7 million. The program consists of four main courses — Intensive Business English Language, Principles of IT, and Principles of Management and Communication Skills.
“Emaar is translating its reading of the job market requirements into its own CSR priorities,” said Al-Rasheed.
Dahlan highlighted CBA's vision that relies on filling the gap between actual market needs and outputs of college programs to ensure graduates are equipped with the right tools and skills to succeed in the local and international markets.
