The event is organized by Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and is focusing on the theme of contemporary medical issues.
More than 80 researchers, specialists, doctors and Islamic scholars will discuss a number of contemporary medical issues and clarify Shariah rules regarding them.
The conference also aims to set the stage for doctors and Muslim scholars to get together and highlight the tolerance of Shariah. The conference will cover five main topics including the rules governing medical treatment, the drug industry, issues concerning fetuses and genes, deciding the gender of unborn babies and birth control methods.
Within these topics, the conference will cover plastic surgery, ethics of the medical profession, refusal to rescue and treat patients, accepting gifts from drug companies, causes of medical mistakes and others.
The conference will hold 16 day and evening sessions to be chaired by various university rectors and medical doctors.
Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah ibn Humaid will participate in the conference with other renowned scholars and doctors.
