A newspaper working for national interest

In fact it has excelled in both phases. During the first phase it was characterized as the first English daily newspaper in the region. That was like a new media and cultural personality in the Gulf and Arab region aspiring for progress and endeavoring to keep pace with the rest of the world while at the same time adhering to the vocational commitment marked by truth and objectivity.
During the second phase, Arab News was a pioneer in opening up to the world, using the latest technological means and benefiting from the technological advancement for the welfare of Arab readers while also reaching out to the international reader. Therefore, it was a media organization for all times.
Perhaps the most significant role being undertaken by Arab News today is its role in addressing issues comprehensively.
It also presents the policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its system sublimely. It defends the Kingdom, the Saudi society and the Arab society in its entirety against hostile ideas, writings and attitudes of a number of parties. Within this context, Arab News presents a model to be copied on how to communicate with the Western world and present to it the correct image of Arabs, Islam and Muslims.
Undoubtedly Arab News’ objective presentation of content and its communications with the West embodies a great responsibility related not only to looking for correct data but also giving that data a cultural dimension.
Arab News spares no effort in portraying the true image of Arabs, Islam and Muslims and in correcting this image that is deliberately being distorted by suspicious Zionist and Western circles. This work is closer to being a national, religious and civilization duty rather than being just a media message. A wise management that is aware of its responsibility toward civilization and culture should be doing this work. And the truth is that Arab News management and staff are fulfilling this responsibility. This is what makes us proud of the newspaper, its management and staff.
My passion for reading has kept me abreast of all the Arab, regional and international events and has made me follow Arab News for decades. I admit that I like to call it not only the “green truth” but also the “green forum” because it provides the world with a distinct idea about the Arab causes and potential.
On the occasion of its 35th anniversary, I am writing this message not to commend Arab News but as a token of thanks and appreciation to the newspaper for the knowledge and the objective news and analysis it has been providing to its readers. I say to its management that we are one family and one team working together for the interest of the country.
