The attempted theft, which took place on Wednesday, was thwarted after two motorists reported that a man in uniform driving a black GMC Yukon with no plates struck their vehicles. A police patrol spotted the vehicle in question and took chase. The driver stopped the car and fled on foot, but he was quickly apprehended.
Police said they found a police uniform, a toy pistol, handcuffs and instruments that could be used to break into cars in the vehicle.
