Jubail school poll victors announced

According to school principal Syed Hameed, the seven poll winners were Ibrahim Pottengal (Kerala, 553 votes); Iqbal Ahmed Ghazi (Jammu & Kashmir, 452 votes); Subair Naduthodi Mannil (Kerala, 439 votes); S. Santha Kumar (Tamil Nadu, 433 votes); Ahmad Khan (Uttar Pradesh, 418 votes); Vimal Georgy Rajan (Karnataka, 414 votes) and Syed Nehal Ahmad (Bihar, 394 votes).
Of the 2,516 eligible voters only 762 parents turned up to cast their votes.
Each voter had to select a panel of seven members from a list of 16 approved candidates.
A new chairman will be elected from among the seven victors in the next few days.
Conventionally, the top post goes to the one who secures the highest number of votes in the elections.
